As part of the Open Response | Open Recovery campaign by Open Government Partnership, the LabX, Experimentation Lab of Public Administration - an unit of the Administrative Modernization Agency (AMA) organized, on May 14, an online panel on «Civic participation in turbulent times - Challenges and opportunities of Open administration using technology». This webinar was attended by the Secretary of State for Innovation and Administrative Modernization, Maria de Fátima Fonseca. The panel was made by several speakers representing different sectors of the open administration ecosystem featuring Helen Turk, from the OGP Coordination, Sara Carrasqueiro, Member of the Board of Directors of AMA, Jorge Gomes, National Coordinator of VOST Portugal, António Cunha, President of DTx - Digital Transformation CoLab, and José Manuel Ribeiro, President of the National Network of Participatory Municipalities, President of the Council of Valongo.

 

In the synthesis table below, the main lessons learned from this discussion panel are summarized, namely, what are the main challenges they identified in the context of the current crisis, what opportunities should be explored and, finally, what are the potential results that can be achieved with the current transformation process. Given the diversity of opinions, experience and knowledge that the speakers of this webinar brought, the synthesis exercise carried out in the table below can thus be particularly relevant. Composed of several guests from different sectors, the panel represents the quadruple helix that characterizes the example that Portugal has offered in combating this epidemic and that also defines the scope of action of LabX, as well as the National Open Administration Network (RNAA), that is, public entities, the national scientific system, civil society and the community of entrepreneurs.
